COSSA's special programs offer the opportunity to get to know your fellow staff members and to be recognized for your service to the College of Science.
In April the college hosts a Recognition Luncheon for staff members and department heads. The luncheon is a way of acknowledging the dedication and the college's appreciation for staff in the College of Science. Staff members who are celebrating milestones in the careers (5, 10, 20, 30, and 40 years of service in the college) are formally recognized with a gift and a few words from their department head.
The College of Science kicks off the fall semester in August with a picnic for the staff. Department heads and custodial staff assigned to Sciences buildings are also invited to attend.
In early December, the College of Science staff and department heads are invited to a holiday social. Last year this event was held in the Atrium of Hahn Hall. This a time for refreshments and holiday cheer. This social has proven to be a popular and relaxing event to get everyone "in the mood" for the holidays and enjoy socializing with other staff members in the college.
