College of Science Scholarship Category2

Students in the College of Science interested in applying for any of the Category 2 (need based) scholarships listed below must submit the scholarship application by 5:00 p.m. on February 11, 2008. 

In order to be considered, scholarship applications must include: 

  • Signed application form

    Category 2 Scholarship Application (DOC | 78KB)
  • A letter of support from two academic professionals such as professor or advisor
  • Personal statement
  • Resume or Vita
  • Unofficial but current transcript (printed from HokieSpa)
  • Demonstrate Financial Need
    • Financial Need Eligibility is determined by the Financial Aid office guidelines and all students who apply must have a FAFSA on file by the scholarship deadline (there will be no exceptions).  If you have any questions about your eligibility please make an appointment with your financial aid advisor.

 

Category 2 Scholarships Available

 

David and Ruth Henderson- Students who are entering or are enrolled in Department of Geosciences, Physics, Biology or Chemistry—preference for Geosciences.

Leonard and Melva Harris—Students from Southwestern Virginia who are entering or are enrolled in College of science. Applications need to demonstrate high academic achievement.

Katherine Kane –Female student who has completed their freshman year with a GPA of at least 2.7.

Davis Scholarship –Female student who has completed the freshman year with a GPA of at least 2.7.
